Q. What is an iOS device?
A. An iOS (Apple Operating System) device is an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
Q. Will the app only work on iOS devices?
A. Currently, yes. The VetSCOPE app is not yet developed for the android platform. However it is possible to use an iPad or iPod Touch and tether it to your android phone.
Q. How much will I have to pay for the hardware?
A. If you already have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, nothing! However, we strongly recommend buying waterproof and shockproof cases that can cost as little as €50.
As of July 2016, an iPod Touch can be purchased for approx. €194.00 plus VAT, with the new iPad Mini available from €251 plus VAT.
Q. What costs do I incur if I loose my iPhone or it breaks?
A. You will incur the replacement cost of the phone. Insurance policies are available for iPhone. Don't forget to check the small print...
Q. What if I loose my phone/device? How secure is the data?
A. Data changes made on the iOS device are uploaded to VetSCOPE office when the information is synchronised. Client information can easily be downloaded to a new device if required.
We recommend that you use safety features on your device such as password protection and those that allow you to trace it or remotely wipe it if lost.
Q. Do I need any other hardware in order to use the app?
Q. What do I need in order to use the VetSCOPE app?
A. If you are a VetSCOPE Office user, the only additional hardware you need is an iOS device.
Q. Will VetSCOPE supply the hardware?
A. VetSCOPE doesn't supply the hardware. However, Apple products are widely available in electrical stores and online.
Q. Can you print from it?
A. It is possible to print from an iOS device, however sending email prescriptions, pro-forma invoices and receipts direct to the client should eliminate the need for this. We can provide a mobile printer if required.
Q. Are the VetSCOPE apps available now?
A. VetSCOPE iBill App is now available.
Q. How do I see the practice price list on the app?
A. The price list will be available on the VetSCOPE billing app and will be synchronised with VetSCOPE Office
Q. Will you need more memory in the office computer?
A. It is unlikely that you will need any additional room on your computer unless the computer itself needs updating.
Q. What happens if I receive a call on my iPhone while using the app?
A. The VetSCOPE app will pause automatically while you are taking the call and automatically resume when finished.
Q. Can I stop the phone from ringing while I'm using the App?
A. Yes, the latest version of iOS 6 has a 'Do Not Disturb' feature which can be switched on before you start.
